Current Management Problems

Currently, I have very few management problems, however I have yet to have any exams or major assignments due that would require better time management.  When it comes to time, there is never enough of it!  Currently I am balancing attending school full-time, working part-time, making time for my family, which has become increasingly important because of the divorce between my parents, making time for my boyfriend, and time for me to just relax.  One thing that most people don't understand about me is that I do not function very well unless I am stressed.  In addition to enjoying being stressed, I am a highly organized person, to the point of OCD.  Both of this things have forced me to manage my time and be as efficient as possible.  However, nothing or no one is perfect.  Everyday there is something new that comes up which forces me to reevaluate the way I manage my life.  Sometimes it all works out and I am able to accomplish everything in a timely manner and manage my time efficiently, and sometimes not.  I guess this is a problem I'm still working on fixing.

  1. Hello Bevin,

I completely understand your dilemma with respect to time management. I also attend school full time and I have a full time job. I am also very organized, and I think I am more production when my day is hectic. Don’t know why it happens but it seems like when I have little or nothing to do, I just don’t know what the heck to do with my time. One thing that works for me is that, I set time for homework, time for studding and I try not to miss those time periods. Even if I get a little done, at least I’m progressing. Make sure you adhere to your time periods and do what you assigned yourself to do within the periods and eventually you will make progress. In regards to exam, I try to start study earlier than most students; I know I can not leave studying for the last minute because you never know what happens or what can go wrong.

  2. I am also currently working part-time and attending school full-time. besides working and schooling, I need to serve in church and in a club at school. Sometimes, I feel very anxious because I need to use the whole day to finish all the stuffs or responsibilities. Time management is really important to us. Sometimes, I need to balance the importance of every task and opportunity costs of giving up a task if I dont have enough time.

  3. I understand how you feel and would suggest that you tried combining things so that certain things can be less stressful, there can't be any healthy results from OCD. Perhaps you could turn spending time with your family or boyfriend into the time you relax too. You might want to take a step back and just breathe and sometimes things would normally work out for the best.

  4. Hey it is nice to see that you work better under stress, I tend to get more nervous and hyped when I'm stressed out and I eventually forget everything!! It is part of being a human, you just can't manage everything!
